Burnishing Aluminum Oxide Ceramic

Postby Ken » Wed Oct 29, 2014 5:48 am

Hi, I'd appreciate if you can give a suggestion about our application:

We are producing ceramic parts.
Material: Aluminum Oxide (roughly %95 purity).
The shape is tube;
Outer Diameter: 6mm, Hole Diameter: 3mm, Lenght 6mm.

Our target is to have smooth and shiney surface,
especially for the inner hole surfaces.
We found a used barrel tumbler machine and wonder if we can use it. Inner surfaces of the barrels are coated with Polyurethane.

The parts already have clean and smooth surfaces but they are not shiney. Shall we use walnut shell with dry application ?

Thanks in advance for your suggestions... Ken
