Machining or cutting PVC plastic (as well as many other types of plastic) often creates flashing, sharp edges and leaves excess material on the edges. Removing this unwanted material by hand using sharp blades or hand deburring tools can be labor intensive and expensive.
This picture shows a before (left) and after (right) of a PVC part that was vibratory tumbled for only 1 hour. A general purpose Ceramic Angle Cut Cylinder media was used to remove the flashing, smooth-out most of the ‘stuttering’ from the saw cut edge and provide a rounded edge. While eliminating the hand-work required, this process increases overall capacity by allowing many parts to be deflashed at one time.
